Raise the Rate for Good
Ask your MP to the raise the rate of JobSeeker in the federal budget
April 26, 2023
This morning UnitingCare Australia joined over 30 organisations in Parliament House to call for an increase to the rate of JobSeeker in the Federal Budget. An open letter to the Prime Minister gained over 300 signatures from community and business leaders, advocates, experts, and politicians from all sides.
With the budget less than two weeks away, there is an urgent need to act.

UnitingCare Australia and the Uniting Church are deeply committed to the eradication of poverty and seeking the correction of injustice wherever it occurs. The low rate of income support is forcing people to make heartbreaking decisions between buying food and medicine. Everyone should have the means to put a roof over their heads and food on the table.
So, with the budget less than two weeks away, the time to put pressure on the Government is now. There is an urgent need to act.
We are asking you to support the campaign to raise the rate by phoning or emailing your local MP today.
As followers of Jesus, and members of the Uniting Church, we have a chance to speak out for justice, join others working for the common good and to be a part of creating real change. We encourage you to take action today (or tomorrow, or by the end of this week when budget decisions are being made!)
